#JesusChristSuperstar always leads me to new reflections every...

#JesusChristSuperstar always leads me to new reflections every time i watch it. some striking lines from judas:

- (when confronted by jesus during the last supper): you wanted me to do it. what if i just stayed here and ruined your ambition?

- (pleading with the sanhedrin after his betrayal): i’d save him all this suffering if i could… christ, i know you can’t hear me but i only did what you wanted me to… i have been saddled with the murder of you. i have been spattered with innocent blood. i shall be dragged through the slime and the mud.

- (before his suicide): does he love me, too? does he care for me? God, i will never ever know why You chose me for your crime.

i’ve always wondered: did jesus forgive judas for the betrayal? i would like to think so. the remorse was there. did God forgive judas for the suicide? i would like to think so, too. God is compassionate, merciful.

may God grant me the graces of compassion (to understand) and mercy (to forgive) my betrayers, amen.
